Senior Show sculpture #1

40 Lamp Poles borrowed from Alfred State College. The poles were originally flame cut at different lengths. Matt Rink and I chopped them down to a consistent 14.5 feet, and then welded the cut-offs between each pole to space the sculpture. The sculpture cost two meetings, 3 chop saw blades, gas for welding and some boiled linseed oil to make them shine. It was created in under 20 hours, and disassembled in one hour. Efficiency is paramount.

Nipple Deep

Twas an epic von epic season of skiing. I had to rename my skis the Dump Thumpers to cope with the ludicrous omnipresent quantity of powder. This film captures the pillow crushing days of splendor.

Body as Machine

I built a clay pot around myself with Ross Edwards. 1000 lbs of clay was necessary, and it was built with logs pressed out of an extrusion machine.

Inteligible Ant

A Puppet show held by the Sophmore Paper Studio. I made the ant with the help of Kyle Doda, and along with our group the show was a success.

Up Equals Down

Jamie Carestio and I threw this endeavor together based on a box with a telescope, and an idea to do a gigantic stencil on a mountain/hill. The piece was viewed from through a telescope in Harder Hall to a hill a mile away where we rolled out giant graphics that depicted up equals down. Yes.

La Soupa Del Alfred

La Soupa del Alfred was a wonderful time. The soup was tasty and the company was delightful. Ali and Bland put on a good show for good people, and all were entertained! Beautiful, everyone!

The Longest Winter

This beast of a show used a something like 5 projectors, 3 mics, 2 sound systems, over 150 feet of fabric, 90 feet of fabricated metal, a jeep and winch, a spool of cable, countless bits of hardware, miles of paper spools, and 3 sleepless nights, oh and hot glue and paperclips.

Bonus!

This is the takedown of a show produced by Matt Rink and Andrew Erdos. I was called in for structural advice and we made it happen in the nick of time. The circle is a circular projection screen with a rotating projector mount. Snazzy!

Unconventional Drawing

A 6' circular projection screen made from steel and paper was photographed, imported into Adobe After Effects and animated. This video was projected back onto the original screen to create moire patterns and some kick ass visuals.

Corian Hammock

RePo recieved a donation of off-spec Corian from DuPont. For the unfamiliar, Corian is a countertop material that has unique properties enabling it to be thermoformed into different shapes. We made a Hammock.
